Certified Surgical Technician - Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Operating Room - Full-time - Evening

The Certified Surgical Technician has knowledge and expertise in operating room technology, and is responsible for assisting in the performance of routine and delegated functions under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse or Physician

Role & Responsibilities:

• Assists in the care of patients in the Operating Room and related areas under the direct supervision of the professional nurse
• Assists in the care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and un-sterile equipment
• Demonstrates ability to apply principles of sterile technique
• Assists circulating nurse
• Assists in the safe transfer and positioning of patients according to accepted procedure   

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited CST Training Program.
• Certification with National Board Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Relevant experience
