Description

We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Scrub Tech to join our surgical team. As a Scrub Tech, you’ll help maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, support surgeons and nurses during procedures, and play an essential role in ensuring safe and successful surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a sterile field and uphold all principles of aseptic technique
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, supplies, sutures, and equipment
  • Prepare equipment, instruments, and operating rooms before procedures
  • Assist with scrubbing, gowning, and gloving for the surgical team
  • Prepare dressings and assist with postoperative bandage application
  • Operate, adjust, and monitor surgical and sterile processing equipment
  • Position and prepare patients for surgery while ensuring safety and comfort
  • Participate in instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
  • Clean and restock the operating room following procedures
  • Support compliance with accreditation and departmental standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and center information
  • Assist with supply and equipment maintenance
  • Document accurately and in a timely manner
  • Respond quickly to changing patient or surgical needs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced surgical environment
  • Ability to recognize and respond to equipment alarms
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word)
  • Problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and the ability to distinguish color
  • Logical reasoning and sound judgment skills

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post‑high school Surgical Technology program
  • CST or CORT certification preferred
  • One year of experience in a surgical setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
