As a Scrub Tech, you’ll help maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, support surgeons and nurses during procedures, and play an essential role in ensuring safe and successful surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a sterile field and uphold all principles of aseptic technique
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, supplies, sutures, and equipment
- Prepare equipment, instruments, and operating rooms before procedures
- Assist with scrubbing, gowning, and gloving for the surgical team
- Prepare dressings and assist with postoperative bandage application
- Operate, adjust, and monitor surgical and sterile processing equipment
- Position and prepare patients for surgery while ensuring safety and comfort
- Participate in instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
- Clean and restock the operating room following procedures
- Support compliance with accreditation and departmental standards
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and center information
- Assist with supply and equipment maintenance
- Document accurately and in a timely manner
- Respond quickly to changing patient or surgical needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced surgical environment
- Ability to recognize and respond to equipment alarms
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word)
- Problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures
- Visual acuity for detailed work and the ability to distinguish color
- Logical reasoning and sound judgment skills
Qualifications
- Completion of a post‑high school Surgical Technology program
- CST or CORT certification preferred
- One year of experience in a surgical setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
